This article is for people who are new to the world of internet marketing and SEO. My intention is to let the newbies know about the basic things involved in the SEO, but plays a major role in achieving success. Have you ever searched for any information/product/service on internet? how did you search? using search engines, right! The search terms you entered in the search engines are called as ”keywords”, and the result displayed in the search engines are called as search results for the particular keyword.
”Keyword” is a word or phrase that is used to find information in either physical or electronic libraries. Internet users while searching for a specific product or a web site use the search engines to search for that product or web site by using keywords. This shows that Keywods are more than just words. They are carrying the very gist or essence of the website and its contents or products. The goal of choosing keywords is to build a table of keywords that can bring targeted traffic to your Web site and are often searched for, but still not so competitive as to make a top ranking next to impossible. One could say Keyword is a word which occurs in a text more often than we would expect to occur by chance alone. Search engines read text and not much else. Web sites absolutely, positively need to use text on the pages of site that want to be indexed and ranked highly. This very text when containing the right Keywords at the right places in the right number can work wonders with keyword ranking , or keyword positioning.
When choosing keywords, don’t limit yourself to single words. Statistical research has shown that most people search using multiple-word keywords composed of two, or even three, words in order to get more targeted results.
Try to look at the Web site from the visitor end. Who are they? What are they trying to do? What other stuff do they look for? Figure out what problem your target market is trying to solve when they do a search. Your Web site should solve that problem. For that the keywords play a vital role. Identify the Keywords and weave them through out the site copy. Use specific keywords naturally with variations and modifications. What other keywords would they look for? Add them to your original list. You can add a whole new major direction, and income stream, to your Web site simply by thinking about your target’s other needs.
In addition to Keywords search engines also look at Meta tags. Meta tags can help you with rocketing rankings. They are next to the Keywords in determining the website rankings. Meta tags are information inserted into the “head” area of your web pages. Other than the title tag information in the head area of your web pages is not seen by those viewing your pages in browsers. Meta tags are used to communicate information that a human visitor may not be concerned with. Search engines take into account Meta tags while ranking.
So, to be visible in the front pages of google and to get the best keyword ranking, keyword ranks , one may want to be conscious about this factor.
